Instagram is one of the major social media platforms in the world and is own by Meta founded by Mark Zuckerberg. The photo and video sharing app has thousands of celebrities and businesses people on it with some people having it as a source of income.
Zuckerberg reportedly stated in an appearance at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas that “We’re working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near term,” though he did not provide the specifics of when it will happen. Also, he hope Instagram users can mint their own NFT on the platform.
NFT and cryptocurrency is being widely integrated in a lot of social media sites now and the adoption keeps on coming. On January, we saw Twitter integration of NFT on profile picture. Also Reddit implemented NFT avatar from it’s own collection and also, Onlyfan, the adult site enable NFT profile picture.
Times are changing as we see mainstream adoption everyday and many other companies to integrate into the digital world or NFT, cryptocurrency and metaverse like Disney and a host of others.
